A CSS colour, a Gradient, or 'none' for an unpainted fill or
stroke. The three are told apart by shape rather than by a tag the caller
writes: a colour is a string, a gradient is an object, and 'none' is the
one string that is neither.
'none' is the absent paint rather than a transparent colour. A
transparent fill is a paint that draws nothing, which is a different thing
from a path that is not filled at all — only the second leaves the stroke to
decide the shape's edge.
How a path is painted.
